The Lorex 8 Ch DVR is suitable for those who want a surveillance system but don’t want the set up process to be a headache. If setting up a dedicated DVR security system with a PC is not up your alley but you want effective surveillance, the LR408 is worth considering. This Lorex DVR is capable of recording video at 120 frames per second and has MPEG 4 video compression. The LR408 also has a 300 gigabyte hard drive so you can record a significant amount of video on the DVR. If hard drive space does become an issue you can archive your recorded footage burning it onto CD with its built in CD re-writer.

The Pentaplex LR408 is an all in one DVR and runs on an integrated Linux based operating system. You will find the Pentaplex LR408 has many of the features that can be found on PC based DVR’s such as scheduled recording and remote Internet access. This enables you to view the output from your security system from any location that has internet access. You can also make copies of footage recorded by the Lorex LR408 by plugging a memory stick into its USB port.

You can operate cameras attached to the Lorex LR408 DVR through its browser based software interface. PTZ (pan tilt and zoom) cameras attached to the surveillance system can also be manipulated with the software interface.
